Yet another extraordinary book by David Carter
Each time I open a new book by David A Carter I am delighted by what I find. I started with Feely Bugs Feely Bugs: To Touch and Feel Book (Bugs in a Box Books) for my then infant son - We've moved onto bigger and grander David Carter books, I helped my son to buy Yellow Square for Daddy for Christmas - It really is a Pop-up Book for children of all ages. I would happily recommend every other David A Carter creation - sight unseen.

Yay for Yellow Square!
Yellow Square is a terrific follow-up to the other books in David A. Carter's color series that began with One Red Dot in 2005. Children will delight in the complex paper constructions. I know my students love David Carter's color books in particular and I can't keep them in the library. The uncomplicated text makes it a fun read-aloud, too. One of the most creative aspects of the series is how Mr. Carter has built in elements of the previous titles. In Blue 2, the aforementioned Dot makes a cameo appearance and in 600 Black Spots, not only does the Dot return, but Carter artfully conceals the Blue 2. All appear in Yellow Square, which like the other titles demands great care and is not for the littlest of children. The paper constructions won't stand up to children who don't care for their books. Still, for those who would treat Yellow Square as an art piece or a mini-gallery in a book, this is a excellent addition to your coffee table or your child's home library.
