The Color Scheme Bible: Inspirational Palettes for Designing Home Interiors

I rarely feel compelled to review a book online. There are few that I believe deserve that much attention. This book exceeded my expectations almost immediately. The organization and layout are excellent, and I love that she thinks outside the box for unpredictable, and thus professional looking, combinations of colors. This book is not only inspirational, but educational as well. I used it to create a specific mood in my guest room/office, and everyone that stays with me doesn't want to leave the room; it's THAT comfortable. <br />The only thing that might help would be to have an index of all the colors, not just the main colors used in each combo. I know that would make it a huge index, and that might not be feasible, but there have been times when I know what color I want for an accent, and just want to figure out the rest. Of course, browsing through the book to look at each page is a joy, too. Get this book for your collection! You'll put all the others aside.

Over the years, I have purchased many, many books from Amazon but this is my first review. I found this book to be so complete and so useful and practical that I had to give it kudos! I have been thinking about a remodel project on my home and studio for a few years but each time I make a serious effort to get started, I get tripped up by color combinations. This book has solved my problem. It is very complete, containing information on color theory as well as page after page of color palettes that really work! This book will stretch your imagination about how colors can work together and complement each other. On my own, I would never have chosen many of these color combos, but seeing them together in this handy spiral-bound book they look like they were made for each other. This is the most useful book I have purchased in a very long time, and, as others have mentioned, the spiral binding is very convenient. If you feel overwhelmed with the hundreds (maybe thousands) of color swatches offered at your local home improvement store, buy this book. It will turn an indecisive do-it-yourselfer into a productive home improver.

I found "The Color Scheme Bible" at the library and a quick browse told me this was a book I needed to own. . While it certainly doesn't contain every possible color scheme it does give a remarkable range of them, and inspires me to create some of my own. <br /> <br />I'm also using it in Real Estate, to show my clients inexpensive ways to work with hard to change features in order to adjust the mood of a room.
