Savage Worlds Action Deck: Big, and Rightly So
I understand not wanting to purchase this particular deck as it is not absolutely necessary to run the game. Having ran Savage Worlds for the past two years, I must say that having these as opposed to a regular poker deck makes a difference to me as they're larger and a bit more visible across the length of a large dining room table. I'm not sure if that's the reason they were originally marketed but that's why they're at every one of my SW games.

While not strictly necessary to play Savage Worlds (you can use any standard card deck for the same purpose), I found this deck to be very well done. The cards are oversized being roughly twice the size of a normal deck. The visual layout is clean and easily read from the other side of our rather large gaming table. The art on the face cards is colorful and well executed with a slightly pulp/comic feel. The use of different genres for the face card characters is inspired and really helps distinguish the different suits even more. Due to the oversized nature of the cards, shuffling can be slightly more difficult than a standard deck but I think the good looking art and the ease of reading the cards from a distance make up for this. I wouldn't use them to play poker, but for their use in Savage Worlds as initiative counters these cards are ideal.
