The 303 pan head permits the photographer to take sequential constant-angle shots around a single axis with his or her camera either in portrait or landscape position, and with the nodal point of the camera/lens in line with the center of rotation to ensure that parallax effects do not cause problems during image stitching. It is built around (and includes) the 300N panoramic unit, adding a system of sliding horizontal and vertical plates for accurate positioning of the camera nodal point. The plates have engraved index rules to make subsequent repositioning easier. The included quick release elbow bracket lets the photographer use the portrait orientation of the camera gaining vertical field. The system is suitable for most 35mm SLR still and digital stills cameras using wide-angle or standard lenses. The head is not supplied with a leveling system to give the photographer the choice of leveling the head with either 1) just the tripod, or 2) with the 3416 or 3402 leveling bases, or 3) one of the three leveling center columns 554, 555b or 556b. The Head weighs 3.6 lbs and is 12.3" high with a maximum load capacity of 11 lbs. check it out: the second colorway of the Dalek Edition Supersampler has dropped. This one is done in a dark forest green, and has a smooth rubber-coated surface. In person, it is absolutely gorgeous. Lomo has a fresh stock of them, but they're selling fast. If you need a little Dalek in your life, then I'd get on it sooner rather than later! As with the original, it comes in a beautiful custom box and includes the awesome 168 page "URBANIZE!" book.Back in the winter of 2003, Lomo met a Brooklyn gentleman who goes by the name of Dalek. As part of a gallery project entitled Dream So Much, Lomo lent him a white Colorsplash camera to customize as he pleased. Two weeks later, Lomo was awestruck to see the results! The plain camera had been transformed into a jazzy black and white number that used dozens of black typeset stickers to create a half-camo, half jumbled letters pattern with one crazy, staring eye smack in the middle of it. With this in mind, Lomo contacted Dalek last year with a pitch to create the firstartist-customized Lomography camera. Given his precision linework, amazing use of color, and world-famous Space Monkey motifs, Lomo was positive that the results would be stunning. Man, were we ever right about that! Without a doubt, Dalek is one of the coolest people that we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Talented, easy going, and rocking a set of really fierce tattoos Lomo formed an instant friendship with him. After receiving a c
